The National Innovation Fund actively develops international partnerships with the aim of integrating the Bulgarian innovation ecosystem into the European and global research landscape, as well as ensuring access to additional sources of funding and expertise.

European Cooperation

The NIF participates in joint initiatives and programs of the European Union, including:

EUREKA Network – through participation in international projects and the Eurostars program, aimed at supporting innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.

Innovation Beyond Borders

EUREKA is the world’s largest network of ministries and innovation agencies dedicated to supporting international research and development.

Eurostars – a program for funding international research and development projects led by small and medium-sized enterprises.

Horizon Europe – coordination and synergy with European funding instruments for research and innovation.

Through its international partnerships, NIF:

supports the internationalization of Bulgarian innovative enterprises;

creates opportunities for participation in joint projects with international partners;

contributes to positioning Bulgaria as an active participant in the European Innovation Area.
