Managing Director of the National Innovation Fund

Georgi Kosev is the Managing Director of the National Innovation Fund (NIF), leading its strategic development as a key national instrument for supporting research, technological development and innovation.

Under his leadership, NIF implements funding mechanisms aligned with European policies and the priorities of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon Europe, as well as the initiatives of the Eureka Network and the Eurostars-3 programme. His work focuses on accelerating innovation among Bulgarian enterprises and enhancing their competitiveness by supporting the development and adoption of new technologies and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.

His professional experience encompasses the development and coordination of policies in the fields of innovation, technological development and international cooperation, as well as participation in national and European initiatives aimed at advancing the innovation ecosystem. He holds a Master's degree in Data Analysis and Management.

In leading NIF, he adopts a dynamic, forward-thinking approach that embraces new ideas, with a focus on accelerating innovation, transforming bold ideas into market-ready solutions more rapidly, and supporting Bulgarian companies in becoming technology leaders.
